Himalayan Salt Cooking Block
Used as a natural “cooktop”, these Halite (Himalayan Rock Salt) Blocks provide a complex and amazing salt flavor without being overbearing. Due to the low porosity and moisture retention of the salt, a natural anti-microbial environment is established. Heat your Himalayan pink salt block, slowly to high temperatures – on the stovetop, in the oven or on the BBQ. Sear thinly sliced meats, fish, vegetables, seafood, eggs and other quick-cooking foods.
Heating your Salt Block:
- 15-20 minutes on low
- 15-20 minutes on medium
- 10-15 minutes on high
*Sprinkle a few drops of water on the block. If the drops sizzle and evaporate immediately, it is ready for cooking.
Himalayan Salt Blocks can also be used as a serving platter. Chill the block in the fridge for use in serving sushi, appetizers, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, and even cold desserts.
Let cool for at least one hour, until it is cool to touch.
Wipe/scrub clean with a moistened sponge or anti-scratch scouring pad after use. Use water only – Never use soap. Dry with a clean towel. Store your block somewhere completely dry.
